Who we are...
Crystal Chords chorus is comprised of women of all ages and backgrounds who gather together to sing four-part a cappella harmony. We are a proud chapter of Harmony, Incorporated, a non-profit International organization whose purpose is to empower all women through education, friendship and a cappella singing in the barbershop style.
Crystal Chords was chartered in 1992 after two Associate members of Harmony, Incorporated decided it was time to form a chorus in the Corning/Elmira area. To get the chorus started they recruited an amazing director, Bill McKay, who is still the director today!
Crystal Chords competes twice yearly at Harmony, Incorporated events - Area Contest and Convention (AC&C) the first weekend in May, and International Contest and Convention (IC&C) in early November. Through these events we are able to perfect our craft through coaching and education classes. Conventions also give members an opportunity to meet and collaborate with other singers throughout the US and Canada. Over the years, Crystal Chords is proud to have received numerous awards at both the Area and International level.
Crystal Chords can be seen and heard throughout the year singing for civic and charitable organizations, private groups, senior residences, churches, community events and fundraisers.

“What would I miss about Crystal Chords if I was no longer a member? I can’t imagine not singing with Crystal Chords!”
