Since Area 3 AC&C in May of 2008, Charlene and Sandy had been toying with the idea of forming a quartet. We had been “playing” with the idea for about 2 or 3 weeks when there came the opportunity to have a pick-up quartet sing at a summer sing-out with the Crystal Chords, which we all are members of, as all of our regular quartets were unable to do it. We asked Debbie and Anne Lienen to do it and they agreed however, Anne didn’t want to commit to another quartet as she already has Affinity. After the singout, Debbie, Charlene and Sandy loved the sound we had as a quartet and we then asked Debbie’s oldest daughter Becky if she would like to replace Anne as the Baritone. She immediately said she would LOVE to and that is how Voice Message got started.

Debbie is our Tenor, married to Keith, 3 Daughters, Becky, Beth and Anna, and works as a Per Diem Nurse. Also, she is the tenor for “Treble in Paradise” and plays Saxophone in the band “The Hepcats”.

Sandy is our Lead, married to Greg, no children, just furry, 4-legged ones, lives in PA and currently works as a Purchasing Clerk for NY State Office of Children and Family Services. Also is a member of the awesome alto section of “Common Time Choral Group” of Elmira.

Charlene is our Bass, Married to Jim, 2 Children, Melanie and Bill, a retired Math teacher, is also an awesome tenor with Common Time Choral Group sings bass for Treble in Paradise, and is the current immediate Past President of the Crystal Chords.

Becky is our Bari, Single, Fourth year College student at Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA majoring in Music Education. Also works whenever she can as a Certified Nursing Assistant, plays piano, guitar, & flute and, is very active in her church music education.
