Crystal Chords Leadership

Crystal Chords thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:

 

Bill McKay - Director

Bill has been directing the Crystal Chords since its inception in 1992. He is a long time barbershopper who began as an assistant director of the men's Barbershop Harmony Society's Barrie, Ontario chapter. Bill keeps the rehearsals fun yet always encourages the chorus to strive for excellence.

 

 

 

 

 

Erin has been a member of the Crystal Chords since 2004, and is also the lead of Affinity, one of the chorus's quartets.  Her lovely lead voice, computer talents and organizational skills make her an ideal leader within the chorus.

 

 

Music Team

Ann Wilcox, Lead and Tenor Section Leader

Ann joined the Crystal Chords in 1995, but according to her mother, she has been singing even before she learned to talk!  She has participated in five different quartets singing Lead, Tenor and Bass and can't imagine a more soul satisfying activity. 

 

 

 

 

Karen Trotter, Bass Section Leader

Karen started singing barbershop in 1978 and never looked back.  She has been a member of Harmony, Inc. since 1984 (singing in a quartet with Anne Leinen) and a Crystal Chord since 1993.  Karen has sung in many different quartets over the years, including the 1986 International Quartet Champions, Four in Accord.  Karen also directs Harmony Falls, another Harmony, Inc. chapter based in Trumansburg, NY.   Karen believes that comedy is the best kind of performance. 

Anne Leinen, Baritone Section Leader 

Anne has also been a member of Harmony, Inc. since 1984 and is a founding member of the Crystal Chords.  She has sung in 6 different quartets, including the the 1986, 1994 and 2001 International Quartet Champions, and truly believes that baritone is by far the most fun part to sing!
